June Minutes
Place: Collegeville Shops and Lofts
Date: June 17, 2008
Sponsor: Collegeville Companies
The meeting was called to order at 12:11 p.m. by President,
Janelle Von Pinnon.
Introductions - it was a small group and introductions were
not made
Secretary's Report: Meeting minutes were reviewed. There was
a typo with regard to Corey Ehlert chairing a committee. It
said he would not, but, it should have said he would now
chair. A motion was made to approve the minutes by Pam
McIntosh and seconded by Sister Miriam Ardolf. All approved
and the motioned carried.
Treasurer's Report: Treasurer, Jane Litchy, had a last minute
conflict and could not attend so the Treasure's report was not
available.
Top Priorities:
Corey Ehlert and Mike McDonald have met to
brainstorm on our top priority of increasing the
status/significance of our Chamber from our visioning
meeting. They identified three items to focus on:
1. Significance - created a main event and have it be our
primary fund raiser
2. Visibility - show appreciation and acknowledgement of
new businesses
a. Have a business of the year award- the Kelly Award is
more a service award
b. Have a welcoming committee - similar to St. Cloud's
Tophatters
c. Update the Chamber tri-fold piece
d. Possibly change the time of the Chamber meetings
3. Rewards and benefits - why are we a part of the Chamber
and what are the benefits of belonging to the Chamber
a. What does the Chamber offer prospective businesses
b. Create benefit - we are all here for that purpose -
create loyalty (shop locally), networking, and build
relationships
Corey and Mike are looking for additional
committee members to help come up with ideas and implement
them. They are prepared for a two year commitment to make
this work. Molly Renslow complimented Corey and Mike on what
they have come up with so far and their follow thru on this
from the February meeting. It was suggested that a
representative of the City be a part of the welcoming
committee. Dwight Pfannenstein was suggested as well as
rotating the City representative.
There was some discussion about checking into
being an affiliate of the St. Cloud Chamber.
The next meeting of this committee will be
Wednesday, June 25th, at 8:00 a.m. at the Local Blend at which
time they will try to fine tune some of the above.
Riverbats: The St. Joseph night at the Riverbats is Monday,
August 4, 2008. Matt Kruetzer and Chad Davey will work on
this committee. Everyone can help sell the ticks for $6.00
each with a 50/50 split with the Riverbats. We hope to sell
500 tickets in blocks of 25. Every 25 will get a mention at
the game. If they purchase 100 tickets they get 10 sport deck
tickets free.

Millstream: Jean Dotzler reported that the Millstream Arts
Festival committee would like help staffing the
welcome/information booth. As a group we would also like to
have some type of food booth as a fund raiser for the
Chamber. If you are interested in volunteering, please call
Jean.
Staff Secretary: The position of Secretary is still open and
it was asked if we should run an ad in the newspaper. A
motion was made by Corey Ehlert to hire Allison Brown Bell.
Sister Joyce seconded it. There was some discussion. This
would be for up to 24 month. The space that was offered by
Corey will be pursued. This will be left up to the Board. A
vote was taken, all approved with Janelle abstaining.
School Board: No one was present for a report.
City of St. Joseph Report: Judy Weyrens reported that the
sales tax committee will meet in two weeks and the master park
plan is underway.

Wobegon Trail welcome center. Deadline for agenda items is
July 3rd.
