Introductions

Secretary's Report - 1st/2nd - Gunderson/Terwey - approved

Treasurer's Report - 1st/2nd - Stueve/Heimenz

Winter warm-up - First Friday in February - Chad is chair - need committee for door prizes.  Pastor Ron has agreed to emcee the event.  Need Kelly award committee. Deadline for nominations is January 10.  Please get nominations to Jane or Chad.  Annual award to person with community/civic/business involvement.  Named after Dr. Kelly who was the first award winner.  The chamber board will choose the winner.  James Wedgewood will be the entertainment.

Wobegon Trail Plaque - need to compile a list of donors.  Doug Danielson might have a list.  Molly, Cory and Jane will co-chair a committee to help find away to put the fund for the building current as it is currently $58,000 in the hole.  We should probably bring that fund together before we do a plaque.

Community Holiday Party - Troy Gunderson - very snowy, but lots of kids came.  27 volunteers from CSB/SJU - Thank you SO much for your help.  Firehall was a very good venue - small but controlled.  Carl Terhaar volunteered the gym at the Lab School for next year.  Do we want to do the same next year?  We need to get together earlier with a committee as this year was too rushed.

Veteran's Day Parade Update - Mike McDonald - tremendously successful.  Lot's of publicity.  The veteran's were moved by the accolades.  Terrific event.

Light Up St. Joseph - Jane Litchy - people questioned that we didn't have an event this year.  2008 needs a committee to start in July to organize the ballots and advertising - about 6 people.  Perhaps one large committee to do the Light Up and the Holiday Party.  Volunteerism is down - try to get help from other organizations.  Do everything together - maybe a tree lighting in the afternoon to bring people into town with caroling and hot chocolate.

Smoke-Free Communities - Alicia Bauman.

Diane Moeller - The new school is on schedule and budget.  Looks good.  Packing up Kennedy in June and moving in late July.  Ordering furniture now.

College of St. Benedict - Molly Renslow - Kim Poganski

We are still looking for donations to support the entertainment and door prizes for the Winter Warm-Up scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1 at the El Paso Sports Bar and Grill.  The entertainment will be provided by comedian James Wedgewood.  Contact Chad Davey or Janelle Von Pinnon if you can help.  Invitations were mailed this week, please return your R.S.V.P with payment to PO Box 696 or deliver to First State Bank of St. Joseph.

Respectfully submitted,
