Revitalization: Activity will be picking up fairly soon. Meeting on
Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m.
Riverbats
Night - approx. 500 tickets were sold, we keep 50% of the profits.
Everything worked out fine and a good time was had by all. There was a
conflict with SCSU - but the Riverbats did a good job of recognizing the
St. Joseph Businesses. Good PA system.
Perhaps
next year we should do a St. Joseph community night here in St. Joseph.
Present any ideas to Davey or VonPinnon.
Membership
- we still need people to turn in their membership fees.
Millstream
Arts Festival - Dotzler - will return to St. Joseph on Sept. 30 from 11
a.m. - 5 p.m. Will run right down Minnesota Street. There will be
music, art, and food. CSB wants the community to take more ownership of
the event. We need funds to promote it. $700 for the digital billboard
at 33rd and Division. The festival committee is asking for the Chamber
to support that. Gunderson - motion to donate $700 - Ehlert - second.
Can we get sponsored by St. Joseph Area Chamber of Commerce. Motion
approved. Ehlert - this is a great opportunity for the Chamber to
capitalize on an event that is already planned. Next year we should
have a booth at the event - perhaps sell turkey legs. And another event
following Millstream in the evening, Oktoberfest or the like to keep
people in St. Joseph for a longer period of time. We can bring 25,000
people to St. Joseph on the Fourth of July - let's do it again in the
fall.
Announcements - St. Benedicts Monastery doner appreciation event on
Friday.
Dr.
Wetterling - Flashback to 1977 on Thurs. Sept. 13. Everyone invited.
